Virtual reality is at a bit of a crossroads. Where once bullish on the VR tech market, some of the large tech players have been making moves to shift focus from the tech to the content. Facebook's Oculus will close its Story Studio to focus on acquiring third party content. Microsoft is pushing its Hololens as a mixed, or augmented, reality device. Google just purchased Owlchemy Labs, the studio behind such games as Job Simulator and Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality. Whatever the hell Apple is doing is still a secret, but it will most likely reinvent the VR wheel. Whatever comes next for VR might be best foretold by the creators, by the viewers and naturally—by the porn industry.
